- Work began in 2000 with the “Big Dig” that included: Additions and renovations to Niles North High School & Niles West High School
- 250,000 SF of additions
- 200,000 SF of renovations
- Phased over 2-1/2 years so that there is no interruption to the educational process with all renovation work completed over each summer break
- A diverse amount and type of work at each school in the district has proceeded on an annual basis with the highlights shown below:
- 2006: Conversion of classrooms to science labs
- 2008: Classroom Addition and Daycare remodeling at Niles West
- 2009: STEM Labs built at each high school
- 2010: Gymnastics Gym and Athletic training lab at Niles West
- 2011: Grandstands and Fitness addition at Niles North
- 2012: Aquatics Center at Niles North
- 2013: Cafeteria, Kitchen and Servery at Niles North
